We’re passing this along because we thought you might find this of interest! Saturday, March 1st will be a viewing party of the Ted X Manhattan event “Changing the Way We Eat.” It will be held at Bethesda Green at 4825 Cordell Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20814. The event will be from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The actual conference in New York City is sold out, but you will be able to enjoy it at Bethesda Green on two viewing screens. From 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM there will be a free lunch provided by Chipotle.
The mission of the Montgomery County Food Council is to “bring together a diverse representation of stakeholders in a public and private partnership to improve the environmental, economic, social and nutritional health of Montgomery County, Maryland through the creation of a robust, local, sustainable food system.” You can help create this idealistic food system with your input on how it should be. Do you want your food grown locally? Do you prefer USDA-approved organic crops? These are the types of issues to be discussed at the event on Saturday.
We hope to see you at this event in order to jump-start change in the MoCo food system. From the public school lunches to what is in your kitchen, your opinions are valued and the Food Council wants to know what you think.
